Characteristics of Photocatalyst

High performance photocatalytic behavior under the influence of solar or artificial (indoor) lighting. Suitable for improving indoor air quality (Indoor lecture theaters / meeting Halls, Convention Centers, Schools, Universities, etc.) and disinfection of health sensitive areas (Hospitals, Restaurants, Retirement Homes, etc.)

Photocatalytic mechanism

Organic and Inorganic pollutants are degraded by utilizing strong oxidation-reduction reaction generated by irradiating ultraviolet and visible light irradiation on the photocatalytic surface.  By applying this effect, research has led to a (patented modified Titanium oxide) substance that can be used for environmental purification such as disinfection of bacteria, air and water purification, etc.

Disinfectant, antibacterial and antiphage properties

Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia etc. can be disinfected by the strong oxidability of “Photocatalyst.”  As observed in the photos below, bacteria are damaged beyond recognition by using our photocatalysts.

Grey Water purification

We are studying an advanced grey water treatment system including degradation, removal, etc. of harmful organic substances on grey water, by utilizing ultraviolet light contained in sunlight.


Effectiveness of the material performance has been tested in two Large scale application projects, namely:

A 400 m long Road Tunnel at Stalis,
at the North main road of Crete
(in collaboration with the Region of Crete)

A medical Unit at the Cadents’ training Military camp (SEAP),
at Heraklion, Crete
(in collaboration with GES)
